Week 3: Silent Signals, Tracking & Fist to Five
This week's task for Professional learning to try to embed the silent signals so that students can use them without hesitation. Tracking is another technique that will need to be continually practiced to embed. The new FACT for this week is Fist to Five, but also have a try at the Strategy Harvest. Looking for to reading the feedback. The video attached is another hand signals idea that is worth a look.
Week 4: Fist to Five, tracking, Hand Signals
This week's task is to continue to embed tracking and hand signals into the classroom. Try to blog how things are going for you to give support or information about how your challenges are going. Remember to have a go at the Strategy Harvest to get students sharing their add/sub or multi/div strategies, this will also give you a quick assessment of their strategy stage. Strategy Harvest
WEEK 5: Fist to five, tracking, hand signals, Swbat
This week is focussing on planning, learning and success criteria and how this is linked to formative assessment practices. Using a range of formative assessment practices enables students to express their understanding in a variety of ways, most suit to their learning style. SWBAT is an interesting way of highlighting for students the 'purpose' of every lesson. Watch SWBAT and blog other ideas you have to ensure the learning intention and success criteria are always part of the students thinking.
Week 6: Learning Targets, Learning Intentions, success criteria
This week we will be critiquing unit plans and weekly planning to discuss whether our learning intentions and success criteria are 'measuring' up and how 'assessment' based our success criteria actually is.
